Leadership in Action

The Annual Leadership Symposium is one of many events that make Campo unique. The purpose of the symposium is to gather student leaders together to learn, share, and connect with others to develop their leadership skills. This event includes a guest speaker, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focused on issues affecting students on our campus. Students whose names were put forth by teachers, coaches, or club supervisors; identifying them as campus leaders are submitted to Administration for approval. Last year, nearly 120 students participated. The leadership symposium provided a platform for students to gain confidence, explore career paths, and make informed decisions about their future.
One of the teams from this group just completed their service-impact project logging over 30 hours from conception to completion. Amani Biko (Class of 2029) and Johnathan Ende, Aaron Minton, Austin Abongwa, and Justin Caputo (Class of 2026) organized the repainting of the “CVHS” on the home-side bleachers in the football stadium. It was hard work and we are grateful for their commitment to get this project completed. Thanks to them and their team of volunteers, our stadium bleachers are looking good for Friday Night Lights and all events there this year. WELL DONE!
Team leader, Amani Biko shared that his favorite aspect of the experience was developing some project-management skills and getting four very different people to collaborate and work together toward a common goal. Amani said, “I highly recommend the Leadership Symposium! I learned so much. Thanks to CVHS for making this possible!”
