Four Gilbert Public Schools have been recognized with the A+ School of Excellence Award by the Arizona Educational Foundation for their commitment to building a culture of excellent academics and community.

Campo Verde High School earned a first-place finish at the AZMBA Class 4A State Finals, securing the title of State Champions with an overall score of 91.125.

Last school year, Campo Verde High School (CVHS) and Gilbert Classical Academy (GCA) were recognized nationally for demonstrating academic achievement in Advanced Placement (AP) programs. This year, Highland High joins them, with the three schools achieving 2025 AP Honor Roll placements.

Campo Verde High senior Victoria Lam earned the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, securing a full four-year scholarship to Rice University - one of the nation’s most selective institutions. QuestBridge connects high-achieving students with top colleges and universities, covering tuition, room and board, books, and fees.

At GPS, students and staff are not defined by data points. Instead, the district aims to connect, create, and care, using data as a tool to support every learner. During the February 10 Board Meeting, district leaders shared evidence of academic growth in literacy, mathematics, science, and advanced coursework, reflecting how educators are working together to make data-informed decisions to support students. As the year continues, this work remains ongoing, with teams across the district focused on building forward and strengthening student success.

At a Special Governing Board meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, the Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Jared Ryan as the next Superintendent of Gilbert Public Schools, beginning in the 2026/27 school year.

65 GPS employees were recently honored for reaching a milestone of 25 years of service with the district at a special recognition breakfast. These dedicated GPS Family members were celebrated for their lasting impact on students, schools, and the community.
