Welcome!

Child Development: We will learn about families, pregnancy, childbirth and the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of infants up to age one.

Intro to TOYBOX: We will learn about the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children from ages one through five.  There will be several opportunities to observe and/or interact with the TOYBOX Preschool children throughout the semester.

What does the name TOYBOX mean? It's not just a cute name that we came up with because it goes along with little children. TOYBOX stands for "Training Opportunities with Youngsters to Broaden Occupational eXperience". It is an occupational early childhood education program designed to simulate working in a childcare facility. That is part of the reason, in order to become a member of this class and gain job related skills working with young children, that you are required to fill out an application and return required forms for an individual file that meets state licensing requirements.

About Me

My name is Mrs. Resh began as the Campo Verde Child Development, Intro to TOYBOX, TOYBOX Class/Lab Teacher, & TOYBOX Director in 2016. I have attended Gilbert Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. I graduated from Highland High School and then earned my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Arizona State University. Additionally, I will be starting my master’s in Early Childhood Education.  As a high school student I took Child Development and was a high school lab student in TOYBOX for 2 years.

I have worked for the Town of Gilbert teaching preschool, dance, tumbling and music and movement classes for all ages. I have taught dance at a few studios around the valley and subbed for Gilbert Public Schools. I worked in TOYBOX as a Paraprofessional Assistant at Campo Verde High School from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 to 2016 I taught at Gilbert Jr High as the Family and Consumer Science teacher.  I also coached dance, cheer and had a sewing club. I have been married since 2005 and have 3 children who all attend Gilbert Public Schools. I have had 2 of my children go through TOYBOX with my third child currently in the program. I enjoy camping, dancing, and spending time with my family.

One of the best parts of my job is observing and working with the high school students as they teach lessons to the preschoolers. I enjoy giving the high school students feedback that will help them grow in their learning.

I am very excited to continue building the TOYBOX program at CVHS and even more excited that my youngest son will get to come with me and experience what TOYBOX can offer him in his education.
