The SPICE (Social, Pragmatic, Independence, Communication, Emotional Control) classroom focuses on student needs in the areas of socialization, communication, and behavior management while also addressing areas such as functional academics, sensory needs, and daily living skills.  The primary goal is to improve the quality of life for our students and their families by teaching skills that will enable those students to successfully participate and become active members of their classroom, family, and community.

About Me

I began working in Gilbert at Campo Verde High in 2015.  Prior to Campo, I taught for 12 years in Michigan at the Burger School for Students with Autism, a nationally acclaimed center based program designed specifically for students on the autism spectrum.  I was assigned to the Burger Transition Center where I taught students aged 16 - 26.  I have extensive experience in behavior modification and have enjoyed working with these students very much!  Prior to teaching, I spent 20 years in the United States Air Force, so my military background suites me well for the structure and discipline that is needed in the SPICE I classroom.
