About Me

I am a proud member of the Inaugural Coyote Staff.  I am deeply invested in the success of our school, staff and students.  My career as an educator started after an amazing preparation at Grand Canyon University 26 years ago.  I love teaching and making a difference in the lives of our students through positive and effective relationships.

In addition to teaching Spanish, I assist students in developing a strong portfolio in community service.  Whether through Key Club, GC105, or some other organization, I think a tremendous amount of growth comes through service to others.  Colleges and universities know this and look for students who have dedicated themselves to volunteering and investing in their communities. One aspect of Key Club is our dedication to honoring our nation's veterans.  Through Veterans Heritage Project, we pair students with vets.  The vet is interviewed by the student.  The student then writes an essay which is published in a book called Since You Asked and is cataloged in the Library of Congress.

I have accepted a new challenge this year in becoming the Digital Media 1, 2 and 3 teacher.  This means I will produce the CVTV broadcast.  I am excited about the opportunity to join the CTE department and help those students with an interest in film and broadcasting to have a creative outlet.

I have been a "Stuco Kid" since I was in high school and am honored to work with the Student Council of CVHS.  Our council is awesome; planning all types of events on campus that benefit the entire student body.  It is hard work, but it is a ton of fun, too!

Lastly, my favorite pastime is traveling. Culture Club spends every summer traveling to the most-incredible places!  Whether to Australia and New Zealand, England, France and Spain, or Costa Rica and Nicaragua, our students LIVE the experiences others only read about.    Join us in 2018 as we embark on a service-oriented trip!
