Senior English and Academic Decathlon
Room: 524

Senior English at Campo is a capstone experience for our students' academic careers. We work with you on your college and career goals, and give you the tools to achieve your dreams through engaging literature study, public speaking, research writing, and more.

Academic Decathlon is an exciting educational experience that combines a rigorous classroom curriculum and competition at the local, state, and national levels. AcDec provides you the opportunity to integrate multiple academic disciplines as you focus on a specific theme each year. For the 2018-9 year, we're exploring the science, art, music, literature, history, and economics of the 1960s. It's going to be amazing!

About Me

I've been teaching high school since 2005 and have been an instructor for World Studies, AP Psychology, and all levels of English. I was also a college/career advisor and taught Health. Prior to that, I taught in private schools and briefly home-schooled two of my children.
I received my BA in English and Philosophy from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, and my MAT from Concordia University.
Travel is one of my passions; when I was a child, my family lived in Rome, Italy and Antwerp, Belgium, and I went to college my first two years in Leysin, Switzerland and Paris, France. I have traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe and would love to go to the Middle East and South America. I also love to read, paint, cook, and hang out with my husband, three children, and Birman cat Orlando.
It's so exciting to be working with seniors at Campo Verde! One of my greatest joys is to help young people find their mission in life and to prepare them for their next steps.
