Today is Thursday, August 16th, 2018 GENERAL

Pictures for the yearbook and all student IDs will be taken through English classes TODAY & FRIDAY, through English classes.

Here's the schedule:

Students whose ENGLISH TEACHER'S last name is P-Z will go to the auditorium during their class TODAY

Students whose ENGLISH TEACHER'S last name is A-M will go to the auditorium during their class on FRIDAY

If you don't have an English class, just go to the auditorium during lunch or release time. Order forms will be distributed through English teachers and be available at the front office.

Seniors, if you haven't had your senior portrait taken yet, please do this by the end of August. ID photos will not be in the yearbook - but beware, it's your ID photo which is sent along with your transcript for applications. So you might want to reconsider those 12 pigtails and goofy glasses. Contact the Lou Coopey Studio at 480-830-5667 to schedule an appointment. The yearbook would like to have all seniors pictured in the yearbook. And remember, ladies must wear tops with sleeves, and guys, you need to wear a shirt, tie and jacket. If you don't have a jacket, the studio will loan you one.

Students, if you are having any problems with your Chromebooks, stop by the library so we can  fix it for you.

Below is a brief explanation of sweep:
Students who do not arrive to their first hour class on time will be redirected to the sweep room. A parent or guardian must physically enter the building to sign in the late student, otherwise the student will be directed to sweep. Parent phone calls will not excuse the sweep.

While in sweep students will not be able to work on assignments, socialize, or use any electronic devices. Procedures will be in place for students to make up class work and tests they may have missed when they were in Sweep. If a student is swept on a test day, the teacher will allow the student to make up the test. Students who have an assignment due will deliver it to the teacher that same day. All students will be informed of how the Sweep program will be integrated into their school day.

Students who demonstrate repeated tardy behavior will be subject to the progression of interventions and disciplinary action in an effort to encourage and teach proper time management skills. Consequences for sweep will go as follows:
  • 1st Tardy Offense: Students will be sent to sweep for the remainder of the class period and it will be documented.

  • 2nd Tardy Offense: Students will be sent to sweep for the remainder of the class period and receive a referral.

  • 3rd Tardy Offense: Students will be sent to sweep for the remainder of the class period and assigned Saturday School.

Data will be collected on the effectiveness of the program as we believe the sweep program will benefit students, parents and teachers. We strive to give students every opportunity to be successful and the first step towards success is having prompt attendance.

Students should log off and shut down their Chromebooks at least once a week.  When they sign back on, it triggers the update process automatically.  If they are not doing this, at some point, they will have a problem. If students are encountering problems the first step is to run an update, HOW TO Update Chromebook

A message from Security:

  • Per District Policy, you must check-in with the front office or security before going to your car for items.  And only one person at a time.

  • Keep permits “visible” at all times…not hidden behind visors, or you will receive a cute bright orange sticky sticker.

  • You must show your school ID to Security as you exit the parking lots each day. Infinite Campus will not be accepted to leave the parking lot during school hours.

  • Take a full picture of your ID on your smartphone for a backup in case you forget, or lose, your ID.

  • Parking permits are sold out. If you still need a permit, go to the bookstore to get on the waiting list! Do not park on campus until you have your permit.

 Counseling

Hello Juniors! At this point, counselors are no longer doing elective schedule changes. If you are wanting to level change from an honors or AP class, to an on-level class, please speak with your honors or AP teacher about this process. We hope your school year if off to a fantastic start! Work hard; you got this!!

Students if you need to make an appointment to see your counselor please use the google form Counseling Appointment Request.  Please note this form is for students to request an appointment, if a parent wishes to make a request, please call the Counseling Department at 545-3100, ext. 2121.

Students, your counselors are finally with the times and have a twitter account! You should follow them @CampoCounseling to get updates on scholarships, college visits, testing information, dual enrollment information, and much more!
