Should your student take the ASVAB (Armed ServicesVocational Aptitude Battery)? We are encouraging students to take this assessment as it will help them with career exploration. We allow sophomores, juniors and seniors to take the test. By taking this test the student is not aligning themselves in or with the military. It is just a career exploration tool.

The ASVAB was originally created and used by the military to figure out what direction might be best utilized in military occupations for their enlisted people. After perfecting the test like only the military can do, they discovered what a great and very accurate resource they had. They decided to offer the ASVAB as a tool for high school career exploration. The test is designed to help students learn more about themselves and the world of work, explore occupations in line with their interests and skills, and develop an effective strategy to realize their career goals or just find out more about what is available to them.

Once the students have their scores, they can also go online to the
ASVAB website called OCCU-Find. The OCCU-Find site contains over 400
descriptions of occupations and links to resources such as the Occupational
Handbook. ASVAB OCCU-Find
