Scholarship Opportunity through Gilbert Chamber:
The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Partners in Progress initiative provides scholarship(s) for students who are attending or plan to attend an accredited vocational, 2-year, or 4-year institution. Recipient(s) must have demonstrated engagement through involvement in the local Gilbert community as well.

Scholarship: Amounts range from $500 to $2,500. Recipients will be announced by May 1, 2018. Scholarship funds will be paid June 30, 2018directly to the institution for which the recipient is entering. 

Qualifying Criteria:
  • Completed application packet and required documentation (see checklist below)
  • 2.7 GPA or higher
  • Graduating high school or attending an accredited vocational, 2-year, or 4-year institution
  • Community Engagement - preference will be given to those who have participated in a Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Foundation opportunity or other volunteer activity within the community
  • 500-word essay or 3- to 4-minute video explaining how the scholarship will aid the student’s progress toward their career pathway goal, as well as their community engagement
  • Letter of recommendation from a mentor, supervisor, or teacher (must not be related to you)

Academic Updates:
  • Students starting in the Fall of 2018 will only be allowed up to two course retakes for eligibility toward the Lumberjack Scholars Award. Students starting in the Fall of 2019 will only be allowed one course retake for eligibility toward the Lumberjack Scholars Award.
