I am the head athletic trainer/teacher for sports medicine. We have a full curriculum for sports medicine which is rare in the state of Arizona.  We have an intro class, an advanced (dual enrollment) class, and internship class through which the students are at the hospital every week shadowing approximately 15 different departments within the hospital throughout the year.

About Me

Originally from Fisher, IL a metropolis of 1,600 people!:)

This is my 5th year about Campo Verde and my 23rd year overall as a teacher and athletic trainer at the high school level.  I have my Bachelors of Science in Athletic Trainer with a minor in Health studies (Eastern Ill. Univ. 93') and a Masters of Education in Secondary Education (Arizona State Univ. 96')  Right out of graduate school, I started teaching at Desert Vista H.S. where I worked for 4 years.  After DV, I worked at Mountain View H.S. for 14 years before coming over to Campo Verde to be the head athletic trainer.

I put an emphasis on the student trainer program at CV.  Approximately 18 students work with me daily after school taking care of our 21 interscholastic athletic teams.  We pride ourselves on being the very best non academic program on campus.  I have had 18 student trainers win the prestigious Lanny Williams award given to the best student trainers in the state.  Currently, we've had a winner the last 10 years in a row.  The student trainers take a lot of ownership/pride in the sports medicine program.

I have been married to my wife Carrie for the past 15 years while she is also a teacher (Anatomy/Physiology and Biomed) here at Campo Verde.  We have 2 wonderful children Kaetlyn (15) and Bobby (11) and our boxer/bulldog Boomer!
