Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is a citizenship program designed to give students a head start. AFJROTC develops self-discipline, self-confidence and leadership skills to help cadets successfully meet life's challenges. People who are successful in life, who succeed in business, industry, and education, have developed strong self-discipline, the ability to work as part of a team, and a well-rounded character. The AFJROTC curriculum and instructional activities are designed to develop personal character and leadership ability regardless of your career path. Cadets will have their P.E. credit towards graduation for completion of two year of AFJROTC waived and awarded CTE or elective credit for completion of additional years of AFJROTC.

About Me

A little about me.  I was born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. Graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1990.  While I was at Sunnyslope I was active in the AFJROTC program there. After high school I enlisted in the USAF as a firefighter and served for 23 years.

During my career in the USAF I was assigned at Edwards AFB CA (90-92)  Sheyma AB AK (92-93) Avaino AB Italy (93-96 and 04-07) Peterson AFB Co (96-2000) Goodfellow AFB TX, in which I was an instructor at the Department of Defense Fire Academy (2000-04) and Davis-Monthan AFB AZ (07-2013). I also have spent time in Spain, Saudi  Arabia and Colombia. When I retired from the USAF I worked a little bit as a Fire Science Instructor at Adobe Mountain, which is a safe school and also I worked at State Farm Insurance.  Being an AFJROTC instructor is my dream job.

I have two A.S. degrees, one in Fire Science and the second one Instructor of Technology and Military Science from the United States Air Force. I also  attended Grand Canyon University where I earned a B.S in Public Safety Administration and a M.S in Leadership with an emphasis in Disaster Preparedness and Execuitve Fire Leadership.
